Refund Policy & Your Right to Withdraw
We want you to feel confident and supported when you join International Open Academy. That’s why we offer a 14-day refund window on most purchases. Here’s how it works:
You have 14 days to change your mind
If you’re not happy with your course or membership, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as:
- You haven’t started the course → You’ll receive a cash refund
- You started but didn’t complete the course → You may receive a gift card refund
- You completed the course or the 14 days have passed → Refunds are no longer available
This policy follows the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and applies to all students, no matter where you live.
Does this apply to subscriptions?
Yes! Whether you choose a monthly, annual, or lifetime plan, the same 14-day refund window applies.
- You can cancel and request a refund within 14 days of your first purchase
- Auto-renewals do not restart the 14-day window, as long as renewal terms were clearly shown at checkout
What if I start the course right away?
Our courses are delivered as non-tangible digital services. That means:
- You still have a 14-day withdrawal right
- But if you start the course immediately, you’re considered to have waived that right, as allowed under EU law
This waiver is confirmed in your purchase receipt and explained in our Terms of Use.
Non-refundable items
Some digital products are non-refundable due to their instant delivery:
- Certificates (ICOES, CPD, IAPCC)
- Proof of Completion or Enrollment Letters
- Result Breakdown Transcripts
- eBooks, Toolkits, lesson plans, and activities
If you purchased a course or product through a third party or voucher, please contact the original provider for their refund policy.
